In short: Buddy AI is an offline-first app. Your reminders stay solely on your device. There are no accounts, no cloud, no tracking and no ads. The only network connection is the one-time download of the AI model.

What data is processed

• Your reminders (title, times, repeats, done status) are stored locally in a database on your device. They are not transmitted to us or to third parties.
• No collection of name, email address, location, contacts or the like.
• No analytics, no advertising IDs, no tracking.

Permissions and what they are used for

• Notifications – to remind you of your reminders.
• Exact alarms – so reminders fire on time, to the minute.
• Microphone (optional) – for voice input. Recognition runs through the Android system feature; the app does not store or send any audio recordings. Depending on your device/settings, speech recognition may be provided by Google – in that case Google's privacy policy applies as well.
• Start after reboot – to restore scheduled reminders after a device restart.
• Vibration – for haptic feedback.
• Ignore battery optimization (optional, voluntary) – so reminders arrive reliably even in power-saving mode.
• Internet – solely for the one-time download of the AI model (see below).

AI model and internet use

Buddy understands your input with an AI model (Google Gemma) that runs fully offline on your device. On first launch, this model is downloaded once from our server (Cloudflare R2, models.wangler.studio). No content of yours is transmitted in the process. Technically necessary connection data (e.g. your IP address) is processed by our delivery provider Cloudflare solely to serve the file. After the download, Buddy works fully offline.

Storage and deletion

• All data resides solely on your device.
• Via Settings → "Delete all reminders" you can remove your data yourself at any time.
• When you uninstall the app, all local data is deleted.

Children

Buddy AI is not specifically directed at children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy. The current version is always available at this address.
